The Popular Show Season Four Reveals the Fighters Table

Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of characters, and a thrilling plot featuring celestial beings, fiends, and dark forces expanding in influence within the urban setting.

Warning: Spoilers for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 follow below.

The Soldiers Table Revealed

Episode 3 finished on a dramatic pause and presented the initial group of characters who will split off from the central cast to embark on their own adventure, apart from the other two tables.

The Soldiers table features Teor Pridesire (played by Travis), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).

The Reason for Division

Considering a large ensemble, it was clear from the start that having everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.

Hence, the initial installments of this story serve as an Overture, weaving together the characters’ stories before dividing into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Planners, and Seekers.

The Nature of the Combat Party

According to the DM, the combat-focused party is for participants who prefer a classically intense combat and conflict-driven story mode where diplomatic options are few and far between.

Upon first impression, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might appear out of place, but the events of the latest installment show why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.

Why They Must Go

For one thing, the group understands precisely where to go next after a brutal first encounter with the enemy group.

An old friend of the deceased character—whose passing initiated the narrative’s action—used The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, breaking into the hidden lair, assaulting Thimble, and taking all the enchanted items to dispose of.

The antagonist then cleared his liabilities and escaped to a secure base in the remote area, north of the city, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.

Character Drivers

Secondly, each adventurer has a personal reason to exit Dol-Makjar:

  • The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, desires vengeance.
  • The adventurer is familiar with the region and cautions that it is a nasty place.
  • The warrior and Wicander, having resisted his family’s wishes to kill Teor and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
  • But, their status as key figures in the influential clan could help the team enter areas they usually can’t.
  • Moreover, The grateful character pledged a eternal obligation to The savior for his salvation and will now follow him everywhere.

Fugitives

Finally, all of them are wanted by the authorities that control the setting for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind dangerous:

  • The rogue and The hero are known criminals.
  • The warrior and The healer defied the influential house and the army of fiends they are partnered with.
  • The fighter is marked for death by House Halovar.

This results in them few options but to head to Timmony in quest for the traitor.

Upcoming Developments

Based on episode three’s follow-up content, we find out that the Soldiers table won’t be around the following episode, leaving the rest of the players to assemble the Seekers and Schemers tables.

Fans can anticipate finding out which adventurers will be where in Campaign 4’s concluding setup installment, released on October 24.
