Hazbin Hotel's Creator Is Aware of Your Second Season Predictions — With Some Good News

The much-anticipated second season of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel arrives on the streaming platform this week, and fan speculation has been intense.

Season 1 presents a large cast of characters living within the afterlife, sets them at odds with songs about their clashes, and establishes heated competitions and angsty, affectionate connections that drive audience devotion.

The fandom's stated hopes for the new season differ greatly, but certain threads emerge over and over: Will a fan-favorite character escape his tormentor? Might we learn more about the mysterious "deal" constraining the enigmatic Alastor? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Obviously, I don't produce the show with audience demands as the main goal," the showrunner stated recently. "However I feel like me being a fan of my own show implies there's a lot of it just inherently. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to happen, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator reveals her big-picture plan is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have already been green-lit by the production companies, which produce the series.

That could imply viewers have to wait years for some of the major resolutions — but they may be surprised at how fast the new season progresses, and how much of what they're waiting for unfolds now.

"I believe people are going to get a lot out of it," the creator notes. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some incredible disclosures, some really cool origin tales, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

The creator is well-informed of the theories and desires about season 2 — particularly in the form of fan bingo cards.

"I've come across a few fans make a prediction grid about season 2," she mentions. "Naturally I won't share it, but I've already completed a few items, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 launches on Prime Video on October 29.
