Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been earned on hardcourt

A revitalized Medvedev won his first title for nearly 30 months with victory over Corentin Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The Russian, a ex- number one, has experienced a difficult period, winning just a single victory at the major tournaments and suffering a difficult moment at the New York tournament.

The player's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and issues with his serve in especial - led to him exiting of the elite rankings and ultimately splitting with long-term trainer Cervara.

Currently working with Johansson and Goetzke, he has steadily progressed in the recent weeks - climaxing in a closely contested three-set victory over challenger Moutet.

This represents the player's initial championship following the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard surface from March of that year.

The win also means the Russian has won twenty-one titles at 21 various competitions.

"It's the first time I'm at a event with my both daughters at once, so to win a championship is really nice," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in dedication of my second daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I got when my first daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had failed in his last six championship matches, including in that event previously this season.

The player's counter-punching play style and recurring outbursts on the playing surface had led some to wonder if his ability to perform at the top level was finished.

But the 29-year-old has made changes in the past month, making an effort to come to the net and perform positively, reinforced by an better serving game.

The champion fought back from a break down in the opening set against the tricky Frenchman, taking four of the concluding five points to gain the advantage.

Both players exchanged breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, striving for his initial tour victory, seized the initiative to push for a final set.

Moutet saved 4 initial chances in a competitive deciding set before the Russian broke to 15 to secure the win.

Fittingly, Medvedev clinched the win with a point at the net, with his opponent unable to handle a volley after over two and a half hours.
